Immediate Dental Implant Placement: A New Tooth Right After Extraction
Why patients choose immediate implant placement
- Tooth the same day — implant placement and a temporary crown during a single visit,
- preserved gum contour and natural smile line,
- no gap in the smile and no removable temporary denture,
- minimally invasive technique with fast recovery,
- shorter overall treatment time.
When this method is ideal
- extractions in the aesthetic (front) zone,
- trauma or severe tooth damage that cannot be restored with a filling or crown,
- periodontal problems without active infection,
- patients who want to avoid removable temporary dentures,
- sufficient bone quantity and quality at the site.
How the treatment works
- Diagnostics and planning — 3D imaging, consultation, treatment plan,
- Gentle tooth extraction,
- Placement of the implant directly into the extraction socket,
- Placement of a temporary crown (when clinically possible),
- Healing and osseointegration,
- Placement of the final crown — ceramic or zirconia.
When the method may not be suitable
- active infection at the site,
- insufficient bone volume without the possibility of regeneration,
- uncontrolled systemic diseases,
- severe bruxism without prior treatment,
- active smoking (reduces healing success).

FAQ
Is immediate dental implant placement safe?
Yes. When performed by an experienced surgeon and supported with proper diagnostics (CBCT, periodontal assessment, bone evaluation), immediate placement is a safe and well-established procedure. At Omni Dent Clinic, we use minimally invasive techniques to ensure stability, natural esthetics, and predictable healing.
Will I receive a temporary tooth on the same day?
In most cases, yes. If the implant is stable enough after placement, we can immediately attach a temporary crown. This ensures you never leave the clinic with a visible gap — especially important in the front (esthetic) zone.
Does immediate implant placement hurt?
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia or sedation, so you shouldn’t feel pain. Most patients describe only mild pressure. Post-procedure discomfort is minimal and usually managed with over-the-counter medication.
How long does the implant take to heal?
Although you receive a temporary tooth on the same day, full osseointegration (bone healing around the implant) takes 2–4 months, depending on bone quality and the location of the implant. After healing, the final ceramic or zirconia crown is placed.
Who is not suitable for immediate implant placement?
The method may not be ideal for patients with:
-
active infection in the area,
-
insufficient bone without the possibility of regeneration,
-
uncontrolled chronic diseases,
-
heavy smoking habits,
-
untreated bruxism (teeth grinding).
During consultation, our implantologist will assess your bone, gum condition, medical history, and determine whether immediate placement is the best option for you.
